Monte Edwards is a forward-thinking executive and capital programs leader with more than three decades of experience leading organizations, building high-performing teams, and delivering complex projects across the public, institutional, and private sectors. His leadership is grounded in vision, accountability, collaboration, and the ability to align people, processes, and strategy to achieve exceptional results.

As Founder and Principal of M. Edwards Group (MEG), Monte leads a team providing owner's representation, program management, and strategic advisory services to school districts, municipalities, counties, higher education institutions, and private-sector clients. Under his leadership, MEG has become a trusted partner in delivering complex capital programs, with involvement in more than $2 billion in completed and active projects, including K-12 school replacements, renovations, civic facilities, and other publicly funded infrastructure initiatives.

Monte's executive experience spans Fortune 50 organizations and high-growth Inc. 500 and BE 100s companies, providing him with a unique ability to bridge executive strategy with successful project execution. His expertise includes capital program leadership, procurement, design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, workforce development, and small and local business participation. He is recognized for building collaborative teams, navigating complex challenges, and consistently delivering results in highly visible, mission-critical environments.

Earlier in his career, Monte held 12 positions of increasing responsibility (including Vice President and General Manager) over 15 years with a Fortune 50 telecommunications company (Verizon Wireless, formerly ALLTEL Corp. and GTE), earning multiple fast-track and top-talent designations while becoming one of the company's youngest executives to attain several senior leadership roles. He also earned a Top Secret federal security clearance and made the very tough but pivotal decision to leave corporate leadership to support Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita recovery efforts under a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (FEMA) prime contract. That experience continues to shape his servant leadership philosophy and commitment to helping organizations and communities succeed.

Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and enjoys serving the community through present and past Board of Directorships with Junior Achievement of Georgia, United Way of Greater Greensboro, University of North Carolina at Greensboro Board of Visitors, Salvation Army of Greensboro, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce where he was also Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Winston Salem Chamber of Commerce, Greensboro Merchants Association, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Alabama School of Math & Science Foundation, Commonwealth National Bank and others. Edwards is a Leadership Atlanta graduate and is a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Network, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and other civic and community-based organizations.
